The 7th postgraduate conference hosted by the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Infrastructure Systems, University of Southampton. The conference is FREE to attend and open to all postgraduate students, early career researchers, academics and industry partners.

This is a opportunity for postgraduate researchers to present recent research and development related to sustainable infrastructure and cities to a audience of peers and other interested parties. We actively encourage oral and poster presentations from postgraduate students from CDTs and research groups linked to UKCRIC institutions who are part of the UKCRIC Doctoral Skills Network.

Conference dates

24th to 26th May 2023 – Sir James Matthews Building, Guildhall Square, Southampton

Programme overview 
23rd May – pre-conference welcome from PGR students from 6.30pm venue to be decided, informal gathering before the conference.

24th May – Day 1 presentations from PGRs and alumni, public engagement project talks, art workshop and walking tour of Southampton. Project poster hall and networking café. The day will close with a reception at John Hansard Gallery

25th May – Day 2 presentations from PGRs and keynote talk on Sustainable Cities by Prof Chris Rogers University of Birmingham, a tour of the National Infrastructure Laboratory, Boldrewood Campus and Future Towns Innovation Hub, Southampton Science Park, Chilworth, (coach travel provided).  The day will close with a buffet reception onboard Steam Ship Shieldhall with a cruise of the Solent open to invited guests, UKCRIC attendees and conference delegates

26th May – UKCRIC hosted gathering to discuss current research projects and network  including key note speakers from SUSI net Network+ projects: Infrastructure for Port-Cities and Coastal Towns iPACT, Reclaiming Forgotten Cities ReCLAIM and a Green, Connected, Prosperous Britain GCPB
