iPACT worked with Southampton Business School to host a project presentation and discussion.
On 24th July a team of researchers from the Southampton Business School including, Dr Rakesh Jory, Dr Manuel Nunes, Dr Wahyu Jatmiko, and Dr Toby Roberts gave a presentation on their research project, ‘Dynamic and Sustainable Vehicle Booking System (DS-VBS) Pricing: Integrating Environmental Sustainability in Port Logistics Business’. They had been working with DP World data on haulage arrival and dwell time at the port at different times of year.
Delegates mainly from the University of Southampton attended to offer practical feedback and data-based suggestions on the on-going work. The audience included researchers from the Southampton Business School and the School of Engineering Transportation Research group. The event was held in the MBA suite in Boldrewood 175 followed by a networking lunch.
The presentations were received with interest and questions were asked during and after the talks.
Focus: Operational efficiency, environmental sustainability, and economic viability of port logistics, especially truck movements and emissions.
