We were proud to celebrate World Fisheries Day by bringing together researchers, students, practitioners and community voices for From Plankton To Plate, an evening of talks that explored how ocean life connects from microscopic plankton to whales, fisheries and the coastal communities depending on the sea. 🌊
Researchers from across the University of Southampton shared insights into marine ecosystems, aquaculture, fisheries systems, and the changing relationships between people and the coast. Our speakers sparked thoughtful questions and lively conversations, showing just how strongly these issues matter locally and globally.
The event also marked the launch of Coastal Communities South, a new initiative that will bring people together to define challenges facing our region and help build healthier, more prosperous and sustainable coastal places.
